How to Check If Google Has Indexed Your Skincare Website
Type site:yourwebsite.com directly into Google’s search bar. If your pages appear in the results, you’re indexed. If nothing shows up, or only a few pages appear, Google either hasn’t crawled your site yet or is having trouble accessing parts of it.
This is the fastest diagnostic check I run first in any SEO audit for a skincare or soap brand, because it tells you immediately whether you’re dealing with a visibility problem or an indexing problem — and the fixes are completely different.
Step-by-Step: Checking Your Index Status
- Open Google and type
site:immediately followed by your domain, with no space — for examplesite:naveq.pro - Press enter and review the results
- Compare the number of pages shown against how many pages your site actually has
- If your homepage shows up but newer pages (like a recently published blog post) don’t, that’s often just a timing issue
If Nothing Shows Up At All
This usually means one of three things:
- Your site is brand new and Google hasn’t crawled it yet
- A setting is accidentally telling Google not to index your site (common after using “Coming Soon” or maintenance mode)
- There’s a technical block, like a robots.txt file preventing crawlers from accessing your pages
The Fix: Google Search Console
Create a free Google Search Console account, verify ownership of your site, and submit your sitemap (usually found at yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml). From there, you can use the URL Inspection tool to check individual pages and request indexing directly — this is the single most effective step for a new or recently updated site.
How Long Does Indexing Take?
After submitting a sitemap and requesting indexing, expect anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks. If it’s been over a month with no change, that’s a sign something technical needs attention, not just patience.
